Hi all, just popping in to let you know about my new mixtape, Summer Grooves 2011. Hope you like it, there are more sets available at the Music section.

I wish you all a nice summer and hope to see you at Skansen July 29th in Oslo, where I’ll be playing back 2 back with DJ A:G. There are also some other gigs in the pipeline for August, so stay tuned.

I’ve been travelling a lot lately and have spent some time in Berlin and out and about in Australia. Down under I got to play at the Bondi Social in Sydney, which is a classy lounge/bar with a great restaurant located just in front of Bondi Beach. The tapas were really nice. Just wanted to give a shout to Linda Merethe Jenssen who invited me to play, hope your nights will continue to be as good as the one when I was there!

After sunny Australia I got back to snowy Oslo, where these days a new club called Jaeger is opening. With quality bookings and a Funktion One sound system I guess I’ll be having a lot of beers at that place in the time to come.

Oh yes. This is a night we’re really looking forward to.

Alex Niggemann was supposed to come and play for us in April, but his flight got cancelled because of a certain Icelandic volcano eruption. He is a very busy man with a tight schedule and wasn’t available until now. I think that says enough about the future potential of this nice guy.

So far this year he’s put out quality releases on amongst Supernature, 8bit and his own label Soulfooled, where also Terje Bakke has an upcoming EP.

During the last weeks I’ve played at the Pitch Radio tent at the Sommerøya festival in Norway, Kanya Beach Club in San Antonio, Ibiza, and at Perfecto! at Sikamikanico with Thomas Urv and Bart.

On our next Perfecto! night at August 28th the Norwegian techno legend Roland Lifjell will be taking over the wheels of steel, together with Bart and myself. More info on Facebook. Hope to see you there!

Terje Bakke has been around in the music scene since 2003 and during the years he has receiving great attention for his taste in music and his skills behind the decks and in the studio. The release “Bakke & Ljungqvist – Fanatic” kick started his artist carriere and Terje now has several releases on labels like Lördag Records and Electronic Elements, to mention a few, under his belt. His taste of music has developed through-out the years, while keeping a consistent focus on new and existings rhythms and melodies based on the house genre.

Terje’s newest productions “Tango Orange” and “Orangina” was included in Reboot’s podcast for Residentadvisor and will soon be released on Alex Niggemann’s new label Soulfooled. Respect!

Terje is very enthusiastic about what the future will bring, and he is a hardcore dedicated guy. Have a listen to his recent promo mix at Soundcloud .

For Sikamikanico’s anniversary weekend we’ve booked Alex Niggemann, a young and rising talent who has been both playing and producing music for many years.  Loads of impressive tracks and gigs led to an amazing 2009 for Alex Niggemann. He ended up in the top ten “Top 20 Charted Artists” in Residentadvisor, ahead of several other well-known artists as Joris Voorn, Ben Klock and Johnny D.

In 2010 releases on Supernature, 8bit and 2020:Vision are on their way. Matthias Meyer and Alex also teamed up to put out some tracks on Alex’s new label Soulfooled. A quick look at Mr.Niggeman’s agenda on MySpace tells us that gigs worldwide are booked far until this fall. We have been very lucky to get a hold of this guy for Sika’s anniversary, and we have reasons to believe that dancefloors all over the world will hear more of Alex Niggemann’s sound in the years to come.

We are really looking forward to this night, hoping it will be even better than the madness Nima Gorji caused in November.

On February 12th I’m playing at Chateu Nightclub for the event Under The Blue Moon celebrating the birthday of a good friend of mine. Fellow DJ’s that night include Luis Molinari, Kimito Lopez, Neo V and Tony H.

On Saturday the 13th Bart and me are hosting the next episode of our Perfecto! night at Sikamikanico. Guests this time are Alex Jangle, which currently resides in Barcelona, and Firuz together with residents Bart and myself.

Time flies! Saturday November 28th see the one year anniversay of the club concept Perfecto! at Sikamikanico in Oslo. Since this is a special occusion we thought we’d might as well book someone special, and finally we got our hands on the one and only Nima Gorji.

The man is extremely busy these days jetting around the globe. He’s produced music for over a decade and put out tracks on labels like Love letters from Oslo, Murmur,  Out of Orbit, Orange, and his own Welt Recordings. Some might also remember Nima and and Thomas Madvig as Black Powder – Mosaferat from 2001 which appeared on compilations like Danny Tenaglia’s Back 2 Basics and Desyn Masiello’s Symphonic.

Nima now lives on Ibiza where he plays regularly all over the island. He’s played at the FUSE nights at Delano Beach Club on Playa den Bossa (the new Bora Bora in my opinion), the Zoo Project concept in an abandoned zoo near San Antonio (download recording) and lots of over places.

Last weekend I played with Luis Molinari, Kimito Lopez and Darius Evens at Sikamikanico for their night called Frogressive. Thanks for a great night with lots of good music.

A few weeks ago we had Perfecto 7 with guest Thomas Danger from Stavanger and Tilt from Bergen. Bart and me started the night, then Thomas put it down like a champ with a smashing dj-set, and then Tilt entered the stage to play live with his new super-fancy Akai APC40 Ableton controller. Next up is Perfecto vol.8 at the 24th of October.  After several nights with bookings of lots of great artists the time has now come for the residents to take control the entire night. Five hours of Bart and plumbo, so hurry up and attend the event on Facebook. We’re really looking forward to it!

On Friday August 28th Perfecto! invites two members from the music collective Beatfoundation to Oslo.
Chris Solaris and Terje Dybdahl are based in Trondheim, and together with 15 other DJs, both girls and boys, they are pushing quality electronic music to the people in Trondheim.

Chris Solaris has been a resident DJ at Wet Yourself @ The Aquarium and Cafe 1001 in London, in addition to a number of club concepts in Norway.

Terje Dybdahl did the Deep Freak nights at former Club Pi in Oslo and has attended HEAT @ Sikamikanico, Helt På Trynet @ former Club Solstice, I Am Stereo @ former Club Stereo and has co-operated with the events with Tiësto in Trondheim.

Myself plumbo will get the groove going from 22:00 together with my partner in crime, Bart. Hope to see you there!

On Friday 12th Wooferfood Records is throwing a new party at Sikamikanico for the first time in a while. The label has previously enjoyed success with bookings like Rene Amesz, Lemon8, Infinitize, Dan Welton, Rhythm Code and many more.

This time label boss David Sense will challenge plumbo during a five hour set back to back with the best of house, tech-house and techno music. See the Facebook event for downloads and more information about the DJs.

Saturday May 23rd will see the return of the club concept Perfecto, bringing those good techno vibes to Sikamikanico.

The Englishman Yiannis Balkizas has spent a lot of years behind the turntables, and these days the man is rising towards the stars in high BPM. Some of the places he has rocked are Ministry Of Sound, Se1, Pacha (London), Koko, Hidden and Ibiza to mention a few. Booking requests are coming in heavily and we have been lucky getting a free spot for this weekend before he turns to spend the summer in Ibiza.

Resident DJ’s Straffbart & plumbo will lay up the serve in the usual style, building up a top atmosphere ready for Yannis to take over.

Expect driving, pumping tech house and techno.

UPDATE 2: Still a lot of visitors come to my site, so I decided to update the code to a newer one which works as of November 2011. It’s worth to mention that executing Javascript directly in the URL field is not supported for all browsers. It should work in Google Chrome, there is now even an extension for this feature called Facebook Super Select All. Thanks for the contribution in the comments!

UPDATE 1: After this post was originally written, Facebook came up with a solution to create lists of friends. You can create several lists, based on your own personal criterias, and add your friends to different lists, which you then can send event or page invitations to. I would rather recommend using this solution provided by Facebook, so that you don’t send information which might not apply to all of your friends.
To create a list, go to your Account settings, choose Edit Friends and Create new list. After you’ve created new lists you have an option to filter friends based on list names when you’re inviting friends to events or pages.

The newly redesigned Facebook has led inviting members to an event/group/page to an even more complex process. Why can’t they just make a “select all” button? Initially I got tired of clicking several hundred times on all the pictures to invite people to my event, so I came up with this small piece of Javascript:

Go to your event/group/page, click invite people and then paste this snippet in the URL field of your browser.
Left-click the mouse in the URL field and hit Enter. Your invitations will not be sent yet, but all your friends will be selected. Click the “Invite” or “Send” button on the Facebook page to finally send the invites.
